August 2025 marks 49 years of Big Laurel and 49 years of Sister Kathy's and Sister Gretchen's service and life here on the mountain!
Join us for a weekend of celebration, fellowship, food, photos, reminiscing, stories, music, and more on August 29-31, 2025.
This is just the start of a year-long commemoration - honoring, celebrating, remembering, and giving back to Big Laurel and all those who have kept the dream alive these past 50 years.

You are welcome to attend any/all of the weekend's events or pick and choose which ones work for your schedule.
All events are family-friendly and open to all ages.
We know that many of our friends will be traveling from out of town, so we want to have plenty of options to visit and enjoy each other!
Just be sure to RSVP and let us know how many will be in your party, if you'd like to stay overnight with us, and any dietary restrictions.
We will also have photo and story sharing opportunities throughout the day on Saturday.

Friday 8/29/25
3 pm - 5 pm optional arrival time and get settled into your room
5 pm - 8 pm cookout, bonfire, and music at Big Laurel
8 pm - 8 am overnight accommodations available (Big Laurel, Bunkhouses, St. Joe's)
Saturday 8/30/25
9 am - 10 am optional continental breakfast upstairs at Big Laurel
12 pm - 12:15 welcome and opening prayer at Eco Center
12:15 - 1 pm potluck lunch at Eco Center
1 pm - 2 pm toasts and sharing at Eco Center
3:30 - 5 pm Zoom with distant friends at St. Joe's Sunroom
Sunday 8/31/25
9 am - 11 am optional continental breakfast and coffee at Eco Center
11 am - 12 pm faith sharing or prayer service at Eco Center
12 pm - 1 pm lunch at Eco Center
1 pm - 3 pm optional guided hike
3 pm - 4 pm departures
Where to Stay
Big Laurel
Whether it's our Main Guest House, one of our two Bunkhouses, the Condo, or Spirit Way Cabin, you'll be comfy and close to all the action. RSVP to reserve a spot and let us know if you have a room preference. Check out rates and accommodations for more info!
Located on a hill above Chief Logan State Park, the lodge is right off Highway 119 near Logan, WV. About an hour north of Big Laurel, this is a great option if you are looking to get a head start on your trip home. Check out their website for rates and availability.
Christian Help Guesthouse
Our friends at Christian Help have generously offered the use of their newly renovated guesthouse in Warfield, KY, just a 30 minute drive from Big Laurel. RSVP to reserve your spot and let us know if you prefer to stay here.
